Small Powerful Lunchbox

The Fredenstein Bento 2 is a high performance two module carrier for Fredenstein Series 600 modules or API-500 compatible plug-in cards. The unit can accept a maximum of 2 modules. The Bento 2 features several important upgrades compared with third party products:

Universal power supply: Mains voltages range from 90V AC to 240V AC, 50 to 60 Hz.

Increased output currents: +/-16V DC 0.9A and +48V DC 0.033A

Additional TRS inputs and outputs, parallel to the XLR connectors.

Built-in Audio Routing: Slot 1 can be daisy-chained to slot 2 by simply flipping a switch on the back-panel.

Compressor buss linking: Compressor modules can be linked by engaging a switch on the back-panel as well.

Secondary power-switch and voltage indicators are on the front-panel.

Bento 2 Pure Analog & Extension

High-Power, Low-Noise 500 Series Rack

The Fredenstein Bento 2 Pure Analog and Extension are high performance two or four slot module carrier for Fredenstein Series 500 modules or API-500 compatible plug-in cards. Every unit can accept a maximum of 2 modules.
The Bento 2 Pure Analog comes in two version, 120V (mainly North America and Taiwan) and 240V (other international countries) 50 to 60 Hz.

The maximum output currents are: +-16V DC 0.75A and +48V DC 250mA.
LEDs indicate the power-supply status on the front-panel.
The Bento 2 Pure Analog features an additional DC output connector to support an Bento 2 Extension.
Built-in Audio Routing: Slot 1 can be daisy-chained to slot 2 by simply flipping a switch on the back-panel.
Compressor buss linking: Compressor modules can be linked by engaging a switch on the back- panel as well (works only with two identical compressor modules supporting the link function).

Bento 6S (Black)

Ready-To-Move Lunchbox

The Fredenstein Bento 6S is a high performance module carrier for Fredenstein Series 600 modules or API-500 compatible plug-in cards. The unit can accept a maximum of 6 modules.
The Bento 6 features several important upgrades compared with third party products:

Universal power supply: Mains voltages range from 90V AC to 240V AC, 50 to 60 Hz.

Increased output currents: +/-16V DC 1.6A and +48V DC 0.15A, 533mA per slot which is about 3 times more than the standard calls for.

The Bento 6S power supply is also designed for extremely low noise largely due to state of the art switching regulators that operate above 200 kHz, which is typically higher in frequency than most conventional switching regulators. They also follow “green” guidelines that minimize power consumption to only what is needed.

Other features include the capability to drive very large capacitive loads. Most other switching supplies might oscillate if presented with large capacitors to charge. The Bento 6S ramps up in a controlled manner (typically 0.2 seconds). Also unlike most +/- switching regulators, both the +16V and -16V are regulated separately and provide separate current protection.

Bento 6DS

6-Slot Digital Controlled Lunchbox

The Fredenstein Bento 6DS is the ultimate portable module carrier for Fredenstein  6XX, Artistic, and Magic series modules or API-500 compatible plug-in cards. The unit can accept a maximum of 6 modules.  Its internal power supply does not need any "wall-warts", just a standard IEC power cord. The Bento 6DS features several important upgrades compared with third party products:

Universal internal power-supply: Mains voltages range from 90 to 240 V, 50 to 60 Hz.

Output currents: +/-16V DC 1.5A and +48V DC 0.2A (500mA per slot). At Fredenstein, we take power supplies seriously and these are exceptionally reliable, solid and low noise (including rail voltages, magnetic radiation, and RF radiation). Our supplies are also designed to handle heavy capacitive loads that can cause other racks problems.

Color LCD Display: Monitors the power-supply status including voltages, currents and temperature. If certain Fredenstein modules are used, like F600A, F601A, F602, F603A/B, and the F607, all operating parameters of these modules are displayed on the screen as well.

Auxiliary Audio Inputs/Outputs and built-in Audio Routing: Modules can be daisy-chained by simply using the menu on the LCD display. Compressor buss linking: Compressor modules can be linked by using the menu as well. This is very handy because different compressors generally have different link standards.

Multi-Layer Backplane: Increased signal integrity and lower noise floor. Gold contact connectors. Solid mechanical construction and precision metalwork.

Ground-lift switch: In case of ground loops, the audio ground and the protective ground can be disconnected. Please use only if absolutely necessary .

Bento 8 Pure Analog

High-Power, Low-Noise 500 Series Rack

The Fredenstein Bento 8 features a complete linear power supply consisting of a mains transformer and linear regulators. This topology yields the cleanest power to your modules.
Usually linear power supplies can't deliver high output currents, but Bento 8 outputs +/-16V DC 2A and +48V DC 0.25A, 500mA per slot, that's ample power for the most demanding 500 series modules!

Another drawback of linear supplies is that they are prone to introduce hum magnetically from the mains transformer directly into input and output transformer inside modules, especially when plugged into the slot closest to the supply. Bento 8 incorporates extensive magnetic shielding of the mains transformer to eliminate induced hum.

The Bento 8 is constructed of the highest grade components:
1.5mm (59 mil) Steel Chassis, Toroidal mains transformer with two built-in thermal fuses, all electrolytic capacitors are made by Nichicon and are rated for 105°C(221°F), etc.

Bento 8 Pro Pure Analog

Deluxe High-Power Rack + Headphone Amp

The Fredenstein Bento 8 Pro features a complete linear power supply consisting of a mains transformer and linear regulators. This topology yields the cleanest power to your modules.

In addition, Bento 8 Pro features a monitoring section. A discrete stereo headphone amplifier, VU- meters, and independent slot output selection for L and R channel. If you want to listen to a mono signal, set both selectors to the same slot. The independent selectors give you complete freedom of selecting your source, the even allow to reverse the stereo field by selecting the left channel to the right slot and the left channel to the left slot. The left VU-meter is connected to the selected L slot and the right meter to the selected R slot.

The Fredenstein Bento 10 DS is a high performance module carrier for Fredenstein Series 500 modules or API-500 compatible plug-in cards in two space 19 inch rack format. The unit accepts a  maximum of 10 modules. The Bento 10DS features several important upgrades compared with third 
party products:

A LCD colored Display and a rotary encoder: To set routing and other parameters with non-volatile storage. In addition, if certain Fredenstein modules are used, like F600A, F601A, F603A/B, F604, and the F607, all operating parameters oft theses modules are displayed as well.

Universal power supply: accepting mains voltages from 90V AC to 240V AC, 50 to 60 Hz.

Increased output currents: +-16V DC 3.2A and +48V DC 0.3A

Auxiliary Audio Inputs and Outputs Built-in Audio Routing: Modules can be daisy-chained by simply using the menu driven user  interface on the LCD.
